Salvage Second Skin (20cm x 10m)
A game-changer for both client and artist. A barrier film used after tattooing prevents infection and ensures optimal healing. The second skin makes the process more bearable for the client as they can shower as normal and do not need to worry about the tattoo rubbing against their clothing, getting dirty, or leaking ink onto their clothes or bedding. The healing process becomes a lot less painful and you can pretty much continue with everyday life knowing your tattoo is doing what it needs to do. For the artist you can breathe easy knowing the client isn’t rubbing, picking at or excessively washing and moisturizing the fresh piece which needs to be left alone and kept clean to heal.
Directions for use: Clean the newly finished tattoo and allow the bleeding to stop if there is any. Cut a piece to size making sure the tattoo is fully covered. Apply second skin slowly making sure there are no air bubbles. Second skin can stay on for 3-6 days except in the case of tattoos which are bleeding and weeping excessively. A small amount of weeping is normal and will actually help the tattoo heal. Larger pieces and tattoos with a lot of colour saturation which weep more may need a second application 24 hours later once the bleeding has slowed down. Remove second skin, clean tattoo, and then reapply a new piece which can stay on for another 5 days. By the time the second skin has been removed the healing process is pretty much complete, the pain has gone and your colour is vibrant and clear.
